There are two versions of instrument Current Best Estimate (CBE). V07 was used in the Frontiers papers , and v09 is the performance submitted in the proposal.

The energy depending HET PSF is only implemented for v09, and both the HET and LET include off-axis PSF shapes.
SIXTE uses the base ARF (no psf correction included) and the SIXTE_rate column in the background files.
For faint sources use an optimized extraction region of R=8 arcsec for LET, and R=18 arcsec for HET.
By default, SIXTE simulated for one HET. The distribution also includes the _x2_ ARF and background in the data package if users want to simulate with those. They will have to change the configuration file themselves to point to the files.
The 0.7.0 instrument files are based on the v07 XSPEC response files, with 2 ms frame time, window modes (w64 and w128), and PSFs 3.5″ for the LET and 17″ for the HET.
The 0.9.0 instrument files are based on the v09 XSPEC response files, with 2 ms frame time, window modes (w64 and w128), and PSFs 2.9″ for the LET and energy dependent PSF for the HET.
